Today we saw a hawk and two LGBs. I know many species migrated, but I checked the end of last week and saw several. We looked at seeds birds might eat, we found nests and woodpecker holes. Had to turn it into a lesson on goldenrod galls and seed adaptations. Did I wait too long? I wanted to complete the lessons in sequence. Suggestions? Bird feeder???","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"46547164","body":"Hi Liz,

\nGreat to see that you took your classes to do some birdwatching! This time of year I guess isn't the ideal time to get more species, but you should be able to see non-migrating species and some winter migrants. I would definitely put out some feeders, Suet + Seeds, that way you can get a better variety of birds.

\nI always remind the kids that the birds aren't under any contract so I cant guarantee their presence, I think you did the best thing you could have done in that case, which was talk about their habitat, food, etc.

\nGreat job!
